Start Up & First Test Drive of Epic Baja!!

Hey guys, check this video out! We've been working on this baja for a customer, and got it running today! It's doing awesome, and after the perfecting tuning, the engine will be good to go!

So far we've rebuilt the engine, drilled the idle & main jets, and adjusted the timing. It's still got a little more that needs to be done, but we're so stoked at how well it's doing!

Rose's Rabbit!!

Hiya dudes! Hope January went well for ya - I know ours did!

Late last year, we got Rose an awesome Christmas gift - an '84 VW Rabbit!

It's in pretty good shape, but does need some work. Besides shifter rods, there are some minor updates it'll need, as well as cosmetic and body work.

Overall though, we're really happy with it! She's excited to get working on it, and is coming up with a concept for the design.

We can't wait to see how this little rabbit goes! =D

Frankenstein!!!

Welcome to 2016! I think most of us are glad 2015 is over, and we're on to bigger and better things in the new year!

One of those bigger & better things for The Zen Garage, is our new toy truck! Toy as in, it will be a ton of fun, and it's completely ridiculous!

It's actually a Plymouth Arrow, Sport Edition. The body, at least, is a 1980. We've dubbed it "Frankenstein" because it's a mashup of several different car parts, some of which we are still trying to figure out! O.O

Either way, this truck is awesome. It's got power, torque, and with a bit of TLC, will be a beast off-road!

Can't wait to see what she'll do, once we're finished building her.

Frankie, is alive!!

Working On Our Bugs!

Hey everybody, happy Monday!  Hope you all had a great weekend.  :)  We finally got a day off together yesterday, and both actually had energy!  We celebrated by going from one unfinished project to another, and wanted to post an update.

First, we got the parking brakes working on both the super beetle and the baja.  We have never actually had working parking brakes on either one, haha!  It gets tiresome, having to put them each into gear every time we go anywhere, constantly trying to figure out whether to put them into first or reverse, depending on the hill.  It'll be so nice to have those fixed and working!

Next, we worked on tires.  About a month or so ago, we got a set of 215/75r15 tires for $20 - great find!  We finally had the time to get them installed on some stock wheels for the front of the baja, since it had some horrible, tiny, dry-rotted tires on it when we got it.  It looks and rides so much better now!

We also adjusted the shifter on the baja, since it's great at going up through gears, but didn't like down-shifting into first or second gear, which made slowing down in traffic interesting.  It'll be much safer to drive now ;)

And to finish the night off, we cleaned up the garage a little bit, got the office set up, and washed and waxed both the bugs.

 Happy Dance - R.D.J.

We're gonna have so much fun cruising around now!  Let us know what you think in the comments below.

Night Cruise with Our Bugs

So we go take a cruise to sonic for some dinner in both the bugs, and end up going for a 30 minute drive afterward.  We only got pics and some videos of the Super Beetle, but figured they were worth sharing :)

Thanks for stopping by - keep coming back for more!
